Andy Griggs
Andy was born in Louisiana and concentrated on sports most of his life until he was 18 and his brother died of a heart attack. His brother was in a band and wrote all the songs, and after his death, Andy took over because the music helped Andy grieve. Music soon became his obsession. In 1994, Andy and his new bride moved to Nashville to persue Andy's career. There He met manager/producer J. Gary Smith, and Smith gave Andy the money he needed to record a demo. Producer David Malloy was there and was equally impressed with the youngster's voice. Griggs signed a management contract the very next day. Griggs recorded a few more demos and started collaborating with Mindy McCready. Thanks to the efforts of David Malloy, he auditioned live for Joe Galante at RCA Records two years later. While working on his debut album, You Won't Ever Be Lonely in 1999, he went back to his brother for inspiration. The album went gold and charted three-top ten single with "She's More,", "I'll Go Crazy," and "You Won't Ever Be Lonely." Three years later, Griggs returned to the country spotlight with a second album Freedom. First single "Tonight I Wanna Be Your Man" was another chart smash and the album sailed into the top 10 in early 2002.
