There is so much going on right now with Fall Out Boy. But first and foremost I must comment on the baby name Pete Wentz and new mom Ashlee Simpson - Wentz just picked out for there new babe… Bronx Mowgli. The parents insist that it is a cool name and that they bonded over the Disney movie The Jungle Book so naming their son after the main character seemed appropriate. Now they won’t get into the whole story and why they chose Bronx, but they insist it is his real name and not a joke. Well we will see what Bronx says when he is old enough to figure out that maybe it is not a cool name but a mean joke on their first born son. You can hear the jungle boy jokes already that the other kids will be calling him. Ok, enough said about the name but listen parents…be kind to your kids and remember that the other kids are not as understanding as parents.

The Holiday Season is about to begin, my dad has already reported that the enclosure has been set up in my uncle’s backyard and three-plus cases of beer have been purchased to celebrate the best day of all, Turkey Day.

 Tina Turner is quite the daredevil at age 68. At a concert on Sunday night in the middle of her encore she decided it would be fun to hop on the hydraulic lifting arm that connected her stage to the aerial platform. In her spiked heels, Tina was nearly 2 stories above her audience having a blast. And speaking of blasts, Tina will be celebrating her 69^th birthday on Wednesday by performing at a concert in Newark, New Jersey.

The wonderful world of entertainment continues to cross pollinate. Ideas and stories flow freely from one form to another, from the printed word to stage or the screen, from a stage to television, from any place where an audience can be found to another. This almost incestuous process has its critics, but it cannot be denied. Recently one of the rarest paths of this creative transference has been announced.

Not only was he named most valuable player with these great stats but he did all that with an injured right elbow that he struggled with for most of the season. In fact there is a chance that he might need a complete reconstruction of the elbow.

Medicine may have extended life for the average human being, but what extended the life of all these acts that were supposed to be retired, or playing state fairs by now. Every summer millions flock to see Bon Jovi and Jimmy Buffett. These two have become the standard and not the exception now though.

So when a reality show starts touring is it an ultra real experience? Dancing with the Stars tickets are being sold not for the studio audiences, but for a tour. I am not going to question the aesthetic value of going to a dance recital, dancing has been a qualified form of entertainment as long as music has been apart of our species history.

When I was a child it seemed like kids were only allowed to venture as far in comedy and conflict as wobbly shopping carts and being grounded without television. Today these are still realities in children’s lives, but their worlds have expanded far beyond and conflicts that were once abstract thoughts covered in dressed up parables have become a issues discussed directly without cutzy-ing it up so parents feel safe.

Two months ago, the AFC was written off to the New England Patriots. Then Tom Brady went down with a season-ending injury and it was like a completely different universe was born.

They say that the family that dines together stays together. They also saw that the family that laughs together stays together. I’m guessing that the family that pigs out on munchies together also stays together, and that family will enjoy the news that Cheech and Chong are headed back out on the road on the Light Up America Tour.

The NFC playoff picture is starting to come into focus after the 11 weeks of the season. The New York Giants look like a lock in the NFC East. The Giants had the advantage of an easy schedule. The Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys, and the Philadelphia Eagles have had problems coming down the stretch after many experts felt they would at least challenge the 2008 Super Bowl champs.

Perhaps the most popular musical of the times is story not about a far away made up place like Oz or a biography of a pop group from the ‘60s, but of the theater of war in the Pacific in World War II.
