As Tall As Lions' voyage toward maturation began in innocently enough with the original version of the band forming itself around Fitzgerald, while the members were still in high school. During the next few years, they endured the same lineup changes and artistic obstacles many young bands go through before taking their present, permanent form. But, the boys still had some growing to do.

After coming off the road in the middle of 2005, following months of touring, As Tall As Lions spent more than half a year focusing their efforts into creating an album that would not only achieve the lofty ambitions of these four young men, but define them as a band, once and for all. The resulting self-titled album, released in August 2006, provides solid evidence that the quartet had met, and even surpassed, their self-imposed challenge.
