Aaron's 499 History
In 2009, the final battle was between Brad Keselowski and Carl Edwards at the finish – a late duel which resulted in Keselowski unintentionally bumping Edwards’ car and turning it sideways. At this point Edwards’ car became airborne, was hit by Ryan Newman, and was sent flipping into the catch fence where it scattered debris and injured eight spectators, although none of the injuries were life threatening. Edwards walked away unharmed, but only after jogging across the finish line in honor of 2006 racing comedy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Keselowski went on to win the race in only his fifth Sprint Cup start – undoubtedly one of the biggest upsets in recent Sprint Cup history.
As you can see, there is a lot of history and excitement associated with the Aaron’s 499 race and the legendary Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. Order your tickets now and take your place in the grandstands to witness all of the action firsthand on April 25, 2010.
