Edmonton Indy Tickets The Rexall Edmonton Indy was first run in 2005 as the West Edmonton Mall Grand Prix. Then it was part of the Champ Car circuit, but in 2008 it joined the ranks of IndyCar and would make the transfer as IRL and Champ Car merged. The race takes place at a temporary track constructed on the grounds of the Edmonton City Centre Airport. The course, which is 1.96 miles long, has seats along the sharp and slight turns for big fans with great racing tickets. The first race took place on July 16 on the Champ Car circuit. Sebastien Bourdais, racing for the Newman/Haas Racing team, won the event and followed up with a win two years later. Rexall Edmonton Indy became part of the new IndyCar series in 2006 and Scott Dixon won the race, driving for Chip Ganassi Racing.

 The event, the second and final Canadian event on the IndyCar season schedule, supports three days worth of events and draws huge crowds, bringing in 60,000 for the race in 2008 and a total of 160,000 for the three day weekend. Rexall Edmonton Indy has quickly become a great event that is sure to support a long history of tradition no matter what leagues emerge as open wheel racing continues to evolve and take hold in North America. Last year Will Power became the second consecutive driver from New Zealand to win the race, though he won driving for Penske Racing. This season he will try and defend his title on July 26, 2010.
