The city of ‘Beverly Hills’ is located in the western part of Los Angeles County, California, the USA. This city along with the neighboring city of West Hollywood is surrounded by Los Angeles together.

Beverly Hills is bordered on the north by Bel-Air and the Santa Monica Mountains, by West Hollywood on the east, the Carthay neighborhood of Los Angeles and the Fairfax District of Los Angeles and by the Beverlywood on the south.

Coldwell Banker listed Beverly Hills as one of the most expensive housing markets in the USA in 2007, placing it at second year in a row with the median home price of over $2.2 million. The main thoroughfares of this city include Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard and the Sunset Boulevard. Its major shopping streets are Beverly Drive and Rodeo Drive. Coldwater Canyon Drive is the main road through Beverly Hills into the San Fernando Valley.

Beverly Hills has expensive homes in the hilly areas. All businesses and government offices in Beverly Hills, except for the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Beverly Hilton Hotel, are located south of the Santa Monica Blvd. The famous Los Angeles Country Club is nearby the Beverly Hills city limits. It has two golf courses as well.

According to the 2000 census, the population of this city is 34,980 people. Its racial makeup consists of 85.1% Whites, 1.80% Blacks or African Americans, 0.10% Native Americans, 7.10% Asians, 1.50% from miscellaneous races and 4.60% Hispanics or Latinos. The population of this city is spread out with 20.0% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 29.3% from 25 to 44, 26.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age for the city is 41 years.

Beverly Hills is home to a bigger number of the Iranian-American communities. A recent estimate describes that Iranians represent as much as 30% of the city's population. The estimate furthers that 40% of the students in public schools are Iranians.
