Blitzen Trapper exists somewhere between the genres of Alternative country, folk rock, and Indie rock. Lead singer/guitarist Erci Earley, bassist Michal VanPelt, guitarist/keyboardist Erik Menteer, keyboardist Marty Marquis, and drummer/singer Brian Adrian Koch have been playing together since 2000, developing a small, but dedicated following. Blitzen Trapper tickets sell to much the same crowd throughout the country, but may be beginning to garner some much deserved new attention.
Destroyer of the Void, Blitzen Trapper's fifth studio album and second with Sub Pop, has just been released and already has a spot on the Billboard 200. This comes after they last received recognition from Rolling Stone for the song "Wild Mountain Nation" off their last album Furr in 2008.
