Perhaps these first couple of decades of music in the 21st century can be billed as the Age of the Side Project. The latest group to emerge is Broken Bells. The side project pairs James Mercer, the lead singer of the shins, and Brian Burton, better known as Danger Mouse from Gnarls Barkely. Broken Bells tickets will surely sell quickly once they are announced, as another marriage of famous musicians has dominated the charts.

Broken Bells have yet to announce any concerts or tour dates, but they released the self-titled album on March 9, 2010 and it would only be poetic for the duo to appear at a few of the summer music festivals. Mercer and Burton met at a music festival in Denmark in 2004 and both were pleased to find they enjoyed each other's music.
