Burn the Floor was conceived five years ago at Elton John's 50th Birthday bash, where the superstar host staged a phenomenal display of Ballroom and Latin dance, captivating his 600 invites. It was that performance that inspired producer Harley Medcalf to create this groundbreaking show. Featuring championship dance couples from fifteen different countries, Burn the Floor is a culture clash between the elegant and sophistication of ballroom dancing and sweaty sensuality of rock and roll. The sultry quality of each number is amplified to fit the mood by unique, sometimes funky - sometimes retro costumes, invigorating music and industrial strength, rock concert style lighting and high tech theatrical tricks.
