Cloud Cult
Cloud Cult is an indie rock band. It was formed by Craig Minowa in the mid 90's. The aim of Cloud Cult is not to earn money but create some philosophical and environmental awareness. The band have also create the won record label Earthology Records. The band is very famous among its the radio and college fans. In a short pan of time the band has created some chart topping numbers while their songs are regular on radio. The Minnesota Music Awards nominated in the category of Artist of the Year. Cloud Cult is very concerned for environment and this reflects in their music as well. The Cd's of the band are sold in plastic cases instead they use donated jewel cases. On their website the music director of KSUA radio station of Alaska, Scott Spider says "They came out of nowhere, but in a matter of only four days of their first CD release to North American radio, they began taking over Radiohead's #1 slot on college radio stations. In 2005 'Advice from the Happy Hippopotamus' was released with as many as twenty three songs. Some of the songs on the album were That Man Jumped Out the window, Car Crash , Happy Hippo, Moving to Canada , Light at the End of the Tunnel, Can't Stop the Journey Now, Training Wheels, What Comes at the End, Transistor Radio, What It Feels Like to Be Alive, Million Things, Clip-Clop, We Made Up Your Mind for You. Cloud Cult have performed at various venues winning lot of acclaim. Their Madison show was reviewed by The Badger Herald describing the band "The indie rock outfit Cloud Cult lives on the scene as a breath of fresh air. The band, a favorite among college students nationwide, has chiseled a spot on student-run radio stations, often eking out veteran musicians for top spots. The group's combination of passion for the environment and undeniable talent have rocketed it to the top of charts and the forefront of iPod playlists...."

Times said "The lead singer, Craig Minowa, is a staunch environmentalist who insists on producing environmentally friendly packaging and working in a recording studio heated and cooled by geothermal energy..."
