Background - Celebrity Basketball Classic
Events for the day included a Private Welcome Reception & Silent Auction, an Industry Panel Discussion, a Pre-Game Press Conference, an All Star Game, and the All White Championship Party.
A Panel Discussion included Video Snippet Rap-It-Up campaign Hosted by Cousin Jeff Johnson who is a great speaker with a powerful voice. The host was astonishing with his voice, his words, and the way the discussion flowed„mHe did his thing and had everyoneˇ¦s full attention. It was really appreciated how real and open each panelist was from Tank discussing how his life changed, just being a backup singer for Ginuwine & Aaliyah, to Elise talking about her upbringing and her transition and Gabrielle discussing how being a victim of rape changed her life and has her on a mission to educate and help others. Many appreciated Hydeia getting real with the students and calling them out, ˇ§How many of you all are having sex? Oh, so itˇ¦s ok to do it but, itˇ¦s not ok to admit to it?ˇ¨ and then she let it rip. The turn out of students was pretty low though. There shouldˇ¦ve been a better turn out because it was a great discussion ˇV those kids really missed out which is sad. There was more media then kids ˇV which is even sadder! All Star Game:

2004 Season Preview
|
 Team 1: Big Tigg, Mike Vick, Omarion, Darren Sharper, Michael Ealy, Keenan McCardell, Lil Mo, Alex Thomas, Rod Gardner, Young Rome, Champ Baily, Terrell Owens, and The Real BT.
Team 2: Marcus Houston, Tank, DJ Clue, DJ Hurikkane, Byron Leftwich, Deon Grant, and Jamie Sharper. They were short a few players & to add on at the last minute.
The 12-15 year old cheerleaders going crazy over Omarion ˇV one little girl got on a cell phone & called her friend going crazy. It was cute but also a sick reminder. The game was action packed with celebrities all over the place. A former Trojan (VSU) was there also. R. Kelly was another one that came out for the event.
All White Championship Party:
The Red Carpet was walked by, walked around, and untouched. ˇV Pointless since no one even attempted to use it.
Larry Hughes with some Solid Gold looking chick (hair flipped to the side w/ her neck cocked to keep it that way) & his crew. He came with like 7 people and had to cough up some cash. Not to mention they were out there for at least 20minutes negotiating. Antoine Walker also he had a hard time getting in due to his footwear„mbut got in within minutes. All of these people were spotted at this great event.
Highlights: The music and the crowd„mit was a good time
Additional Highlights: Having the chance to meet and see a lot of the athletes and entertainers. Everyone was very down to earth and showed their support for such a great cause.
