This season the No. 5 Florida Gators will play the No. 3 Cincinnati Bearcats. The Gators are the second place team in the SEC. Alabama the conference champion is playing in the championship game. Florida's lone loss of the season came in the SEC Championship game to Alabama. The 32-13 loss sucked the wind out the Gator's sails and seemed to render the previous 12 wins of the season worthless. Still, the Sugar Bowl is a very good consolation prize. Quarterback Tim Tebow will play his final game as a Gator, leading the offense with his arm and his foot. The option-oriented offense has allowed him to throw for 2,413 yards and 18 touchdowns and run for 859 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is the leading rusher on the team, though Jeffery Demps is phenomenal when he gets the ball, averaging 7.7 yards per carry. Chris Rainey is another dangerous running weapon, picking up 6.4 yards per carry. Receiver Riley Cooper is a big play wide out while Aaron Hernandez is the hands of the team. The Florida Gators come into the game with a deadly offense whose speed and quickness make them impossible to cover. The Cincinnati Bearcats survived an injury to their starting quarterback Tony Pike in the middle of the season to go 12-0. Pike was only out three games, but for a team in the hunt for the national title the fact that they won all three of those games is amazing. Pike managed to throw for 2,350 yards and 26 touchdowns with just six interceptions in nine games. Cincinnati is definitely a team that likes to spread the field, averaging over 300 yards passing a game. The run game is there too. Isaiah Pead, Jacob Ramsey, and Zach Collaros each pick up six yards or more per carry. Combined they have run for 1,523 yards and 17 touchdowns. The leading receiver on the Bearcats is Mardy Gilyard. Gilyard caught 80 passes for 1,150 yards and 11 touchdowns. Armon Binns and D>J> Woods are Pike's other two consistent targets. This team has the talent at every position to spread the field effectively, much like an NFL offense.
