The 2010 college football regular season is over and the 2010-2011 bowl game schedule is set. BBVA Compass Bowl tickets are available for the game on January 8, 2011 between the Pittsburgh Panthers of the Big East and the Kentucky Wildcats of the SEC.
The Pittsburgh Panthers are coached by Mike Haywood and went 7-5 over the course of the season. The Panthers went 5-2 in the Big East, salvaging an apparently lost season. They finished the season in third place thanks to that 5-2 record. Some may think that the team is lucky to even be playing in a bowl game after the dreadful start of the season that led to Dave Wandstedt's departure following the end of the regular season. The Panthers offense averaged 210 passing yards and 157.8 rushing yards a game. Pittsburgh ended up scoring 26.3 points a game and allowing 19.8.
The Kentucky Wildcats are coached by Joker Phillips and went 6-6 and a terrible 2-6 conference record in SEC. The Wildcats finished fifth in the SEC East Division thanks to that terrible record. The team could definitely score, averaging 33 points a game thanks to 274.2 passing yards and 163.1 rushing yards a game. Kentucky also allows 28.5 points a game.
Look for great BBVA Compass Bowl tickets to see which of these teams will prove victorious and if a middle of the road Big East team can beat a bottom feeder from the SEC.
