Played at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, December 20, 2009, this year's game will pit the Sun Belt Conference Champion, Troy Trojans, against a team from Conference USA.
The New Orleans Bowl has been played annually at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana since 2001. The game was previously sponsored by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts from 2002 to 2004 and was officially called the Wyndham New Orleans Bowl. R+L Carriers replaced Wyndham as the sponsor in 2006, and thus it became officially known as the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
The New Orleans Bowl has never seemed to disappoint the fans who made the effort to get tickets to witness this NCAA football event. Past New Orleans Bowl participants include teams such as Arkansas State, North Texas, Colorado State, Memphis, and Cincinnati.
