On December 19, 2006, CSO is presenting a An Nollaig-An Irish Christmas performed by Nine-time all-Ireland fiddling champion and violinist with Riverdance for three years, Eileen Ivers. Eileen Ivers is the world's influential exponent of the Irish fiddle. Backed by her brightly versatile band, Immigrant Soul, she will be pleasing the audience at the season's concert. Eileen has a strong tendency to capture the spirit and magic of the season in her soul soothing holiday show, "An Nollaig - An Irish Christmas". This show will be featuring all traditional Irish songs, original tunes, and holiday favorites.

Artist Biography - Colorado Symphony Orchestra An Nollaig An Irish Christmas
|
CSO was established in 1989 as the successor to the Denver Symphony. It is regarded as Colorado's only resident orchestra consisting of professional musicians who are employed to recreate symphonic music on a full-time basis. These musicians also actively take part in the management of the organization through significant participation on both ,the Association's Board of Trustees and all governing committees. Marin Alsop had been the music director of CSO for much of the 1990s and 2000s. Currently, Jeffrey Kahane is leading the CSO , under whose guidance, CSO has reached the heights of popularity.
Eileen is a world renowned Irish-American musician. Born on 13 July 1965 in in New York City. She was brought up in Bronx and developed her interest in music and fiddle at a very tender age. She spent summers in Ireland and learned fiddle at age nine. She was trained by an Irish fiddler Martin Mulvihill. She toured with Mick Moloney's band The Green Fields of America which was founded in 1977.
Eileen led the foundation of Cherish the Ladies. Solos on stage while on tour with the "Riverdance" Irish dance troupe in 1995 brought her the greatest public's attention and fame. She is best known for her eye-catching blue electric fiddle and up-until-now a one-of-a-kind instrument with totally unique sound and ambiance, from which her album "Wild Blue" got its name. Eileen is also known for recording and composing a track for the soundtrack to the film "Gangs Of New York", entitled 'Lament For Stalker Wallace'. She is credited for composing the full soundtrack for the film "Some Mother's Son".
