David Archuleta is the performer perhaps best known from the seventh season of American Idol, where he finished second to David Cook. Now, in 2010, he is a pop singer looking to sell albums and David Archuleta tickets as a 20 year old sensation.
Before the pop singer performed before Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, he had already become a talent show vet. Archuleta first showcased his talent at the age of 10, winning the Utah Talent Competition children division. Two years later he was deemed the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2. Finally, at the age of 16, he entered American Idol and became of the youngest contestants ever on the program.
Since walking away second with 44 percent of the votes, David Archuleta has released three albums and has been on three headlining tour. Following his 2008 American Idol performance and the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2008, he entered the studios and recorded a eponymous debut album. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and ultimately went gold. A year later he recorded a holiday album, Christmas from the Heart. The album peaked at number 30 on the Billboard 200 but reached number 2 on the U.S. Holiday chart. Its sales fell short of certification.
