Deke Dickerson
Deke Dickerson, is an American rockabilly guitarist, from Columbia, Missouri. He is respected as a apodictic musicologist, combining together styles as contrastive as old-time country, doo-wop, surf, rock and roll, rhythm and blues. He is recognised as one of the very top acts in the world in rockabilly, and on a regular basis headlines festivals from Las Vegas to Finland. His stylemark is a custom double-neck Mosrite guitar. Hailing from the frenzied state of Missouri, double-neck guitar champion and rock 'n' roll snake charmer, Deke Dickerson is a rare example of a true blue rock 'n' roller whose not only perfected every epochal element of the genre, but made a huge endeavor to the music's evolving culture by doing it right and keeping it simple. The genre-jumping in Deke's latest assemblage truly boggles the mind, which scuffle the music that sounds so exceptional in the first place. The most enchanting element of Dickerson's rock 'n' roll venture is that he doesn't feel the need to "justify" that which is already great to begin with by grooming it up with over-production, "relevant" lyrics" or unneeded "guest" artists. A firm commitment to his craft has him ablaze with the most unequivocal concepts, unaltered song writing and the occasionally fitting contribution by guest artists to the origin of rock 'n' roll out-weigh their name recognition. Joey D'Ambrosio, Claude Trenier and Hadda Brooks have all bestowed to past Ecco-Fonics albums, while Earl Palmer has played his inimitable beat on the latest Deke Dickerson In -Dimensions.

Artist Biography - Deke Dickerson
|
Born on June 3, 1968, by age 13, Deke's musical abilities began to display themselves. He started to play in the bands around his home town, and this helped the budding genius to nurture his growing talent. He and his friends from high school formed their own band, the Untamed Youth, at the age of 17. It was a garage band that preferred surf guitar licks. During that time, they engaged as a national touring act and released four indie recordings and won a strong laurel in the Midwest. He soon became deep-rooted in L.A. and the rockabilly scene and fianlly aquilined with the evenly gifted Dave Stuckey, another Midwesterner who had transfered his craft to the West Coast. Soon, they formed one of the foremost hillbilly duos to come out of Los Angeles. They released two projects, the second being the highly acclaimed CD, Hollywood Barndance.
Dickerson made his impression of guitar playing, branding it with rockabilly, surf and rock 'n' roll with a strong dash of the Roy Nichols jazzy style of country guitar. Inspite of the success of Dave & Deke, and the overpowering emotional link, their audiences had for the twosome, he felt the need to move ahead again. In 1998, now an expert engineer and studio producer, Dickerson went on to produce a solo project by the Fly-Rite Boys sans Big Sandy. The result of those sessions in 1998 was the Fall release of Number One Hit Record on HighTone's HMG label. Deke's music has appeared in many movie and television soundtracks, most recently in the Oscar-winning movie Sideways and the TV show Monster Garage.
