Back in 2005 Jonathan Jameson and Brandon Young were friends who crossed paths often in the Sand Diego music scene. Enter new friend Sean Walker, a busking Matthew Vazquez and the Delta Spirit came forth. The fifth band member, Kelly Winrich, began as the group's producer. Now, Vazquez sings and play guitar, Young plays the drums, Jameson plays bass, Walker plays guitar, and Winrich plays a variety of instruments before live audiences with Delta Spirit tickets.

The group settled on Delta Spirit as a band name after finding inspiration from Jameson's uncle, who once ran company named Delta Spirit Taxidermy Station of North Central Alabama. Since settling on a name the band has released an EP and two studio albums.

Delta Spirit has also been out on tour with groups like Cold War Kids, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and Dr. Dog. Add to that decent list a few appearances on Conan O'Brien and Carson Daily and the group has enjoyed terrific exposure.
