Dick Fox Golden Boys
Although, all the performances of the Golden Boys went as a hit but the main spotlights of each of the performers that made an All Time greatest hits are, "Turn Me Loose", "Tiger", "I'm A Man" (Fabian); "Venus", "De De Dinah", "Bobby Sox to Stockings" (Avalon); "Volare", "Wild One", "Kissin' Time" (Rydell).
All the three celebrities joined their talents on different songs to perform a tribute to be paid to the material of Elvis Presley, Bobby Darin, Rick Nelson and Bill Hailey.
All three of them have divided their roles very cleverly on stage. While Baby Boomers did reminiscing on a large scale from "Venus" to "Bobby Sox to Stockings", the other star Frankie Avalon took the centrestage. He followed a long journey from being the "Teen-age Idol" to a mature professional. He has a career spanning for three generations in all fields of music, television and motion pictures. He started off as a musician trumpet player when he was very young. He left no stone unturned to seize each opportunity knocking his doors to make into the local amateur contests. His work paid for him as he won a string of these concerts. His debut single "De De Dinah" went on chart busters at top positions and became a smash hit. Eventually, his recording of "Venus" became one of the biggest selling hits of that era.
The other talent, Fabian Forte, was discovered when he was 14. He gave dozens of hit singles to the musical fans and has also released eight albums. He received gold records for ‘Turn Me Loose' and ‘Tiger'. He is also honoured with and a gold album for ‘The Fabulous Fabian'.
Then, come the turn of Fabian, who has been busy touring with the Golden Boys. However, in between, he takes a break and makes frequent appearances in television and feature film productions. He has been hosting "Fabian's Celebrity Golf Tournament" for the past three years that has successfully raised money for veteran's causes.
The other star of the band, Bobby Rydell also made his debut in the late 50s. He started off as a rock and roll teen idol. His entry was different as he starred in movie roles such as ‘Bye Bye Birdie', and plays such as ‘West Side Story'. His presence was not a regular one on the Red Skelton Show and American Bandstand, however, it could not even be termed as semi-regular.
He has a splashing record in his career as he earned 34 Top 40 records that lists him among the top 5 of all single artists from his era. Bobby's hits are many but main hits that have become unforgettable for his fans and have sold in millions are "Volare", "Wild One", "We Got Love" and "Forget Him".
