Donna Summers
Donna Summer's was titled the Queen of Disco as her numbers were constantly ruling the charts and made her popular in the dance clubs. She also won a Grammy for "Last Dance". She also won a gospel Grammy for "Forgive Me". "Hot Stuff" made her the first female artist to score three number one singles in the same year. I Feel Love Last Dance and Hot Stuff are her representative albums.
Summer planned and left for Casablanca records when she was at the peak of her success. In the year 1980 she envisioned that disco era is about to an end so Summer modified her style and did pop and rock for her first Geffen album "The Wanderer". Both these album and title track were a great hit. In 1982 she put an end to her agreement with Moroder & Bellotte and decided to work with Quincy Jones. She got her last major success when she teamed up with the British production of Stock, Aitken & Waterman.
She worked very hard to earn her success. But by 1984 her charisma and fame was fading away and when her Summer's Cats Without Claws was released it failed to earn her the old success. In 1991 lackluster, urban-styled Mistaken Identity put an end to Summer's career. Not even a single album in the 90s was a big hit.
However, even today Donna summer remains a true diva in the music world. With her ability, class, appearance along with gold and platinum awards she has always remained an ordinary girl. Now at the age of 58 she is based in Tennessee, in Nashville.
