Welcome to the world of The Wiggles! The Wiggles are children's entertainers who have re-written the book about how children can be entertained with song and dance. In 1991, Murray Cook, Greg Page, Tony Field and Jeff Fatt got together to form a children's band. The group along with 4 other characters - Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword were named The Wiggles. All four were qualified preschool teachers and the Wiggles, with their distinctive colorful skivvies soon became a part of the lives of many children. The group-Greg (Yellow), Murray (Red), Jeff (Purple) and Anthony (Blue) and the characters earned quite a reputation for writing well-crafted children's songs.
The Wiggles, a Sydney Australian based band has created a catalog of children's album, television programs, home videos and film that have been recognized as modern classics. The Wiggles have toured in Australia, New Zealand, UK, and the US and have kept constant contact with their fans

 Videos such as Wiggle Time, Yummy Yummy, and Big Red Car all achieved double platinum status. The band's fourth video, Wake Up Jeff, sold over 200,000 copies in 1996. The Wiggledance in 1997, sold almost one million videos and their two books, -Let's Wiggle and -Dorothy the Dinosaur's Picture Book, were in multiple editions. The Wiggles released their first film, Dorothy the Dinosaur, in 1997
Apart from the four Wiggles, there are many other characters that appear in their songs and shows. They were developed in the early 1990s, and were originally played by group members and by Anthony's brother Paul Field. The secondary characters are now played by hired actors, occasionally touring without The Wiggles as "Dorothy The Dinosaur And Friends."
The inclusion of the Dorothy character enabled them to tap into the young children's interest in dinosaurs. Dorothy is a very friendly dinosaur and has a heart of gold. She is a large green dinosaur with yellow spots. She wears a floppy white hat and enjoys eating roses. Dorothy is 5 Dinosaur years old now. Wiggles celebrate her birthday on November 3rd. Dorothy is known to be very wise for her age. She enjoys dancing, and knows ballet, Irish, Scottish, and line dancing.
