Dru Hill is the R&B group from Baltimore that looked like they would enjoy a legendary career after their emergence in the height of the genre in the 1990s. However, as times always do, the music of choice changed, almost leaving the quartet behind. They are back in the 2010, selling Dru Hill tickets and releasing a new album, the first in eight years.
The quartet is surprisingly much the same as its beginnings. Sisqo (yes "Thong Song" Sisqo), Jazz, and Nokio remain apart of the group. Only Tao is a replacement. Back to its original four-man beginnings, Dru Hill has released InDRUpendence Day. The album is just the group's fourth, but it is the first since 2002. So far the album has yielded three singles, "Love MD", "Remain Silent", and the aptly named "Back to the Future." The album has successfully breached the Billboard 200 since its release on July 27.

The group has survived and revived their career, remaining mostly intact from their humble Baltimore roots in the Druid Hill Park neighborhood. The group began as an answer to those searching for middle ground between smooth R&B from groups like Boyz II Men and the bad boys of the R&B world. Their self-titled debut album (1996) peaked at Number 23 on the Billboard 200 and Number 5 on the U.S. R&B charts and went platinum.
Dru Hill's second album, Enter the Dru, came out in 1998 and peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard 200 and U.S. R&B charts. It went double platinum as Sisqo became the obvious lead of the group. Burgeoning solo careers, a clash in the musical direction, and time postponed any hopes of a third album. The third album, Dru World Order, released in 2002 with Dru Hill returning Woody and adding Scola to make this a quintet. Again the album went platinum, but the group began to see a decrease in interest from the population as whole, only peaking at Number 21 on the Billboard 200.
Dru Hill's future came into question as infighting stemming from ego and money issues shrunk the group to three. Tao joined the group in 2008 to return the R&B group to full strength and the guys went to work on their fourth studio album.
