Dungen
With Subliminal (a friend's record label), a Swedish record label, they released two vinyl records. Briefly, while with Dolores Recordings, a branch of Virgin Records, Dungen released Stadsvandringar plus three singles, out of which one was for the Swedish version of Jungle Book 2 called Djungelboken 2. However, they returned to Subliminal, as they found the second record label too mainstream. Thanks to their third album, Ta Det Lugnt (2004), the band received worldwide acclaim. "Ta Det Lugnt" means "take it easy". After the release of the album, they have been constantly touring in the UK, Australia and the America. Funnily, all their songs are sung in Swedish.
Their album, "Tio Bitar" meaning "ten pieces" is the latest to hit the market. Tio Bitar includes: an Intro; "Familj" (Family); "Gör Det Nu" (Do it now); "Caroline Visar Vägen" (Caroline shows the way); "Du Ska Inte Tro Att Det Ordnar Sig" (You shouldn't expect it to work out); "Mon Amour"; "Så Blev Det Bestämt" (So it was settled); "Ett Skäl Att Trivas" (A reason to thrive); "Svart är Himlen" (Black is the sky) and "En Gång i år Kom Det En Tår" (Once this year there came a tear). Their labels changed from Subliminal Sounds to Kemado Records (US) to Astralwerks (US) and currently at Memphis Industries (UK).
A multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalist frontman, backed by an extremely skilled band, Thanks to Gustav Ejstes's vision and skill, Dungen will last for ages. Buy tickets while the artists are not affected and still on the way to the top.

Artist Biography - Dungen
|
No matter what language Dungen sings in, tickets are certain to fly out of the counter. Playing Psychedelic rock that actually seems to have crept out of the 60's, Dungen is a stellar band led by the super-talented Gustav Ejstes who could even run an entire country on his own if need be. For crying out loud, they even use old instruments. Dungen's sound is a potpourri of psychedelia, classic rock, pop, folk etc. Almost too good to be true, except their lyrics are in Swedish. That still didn't stop fans in English-speaking regions from creating mass buzz.
Dungen (pronounced "doo-ngen") is a psychedelic rock band hailing from Stockholm. Dungen translates into "grove" in Swedish. Dungen consists of Gustav Ejstes (singer/composer), Fredrik Björling (drums), Reine Fiske (guitar) and Mattias Gustavsson (on bass). "When I was eight years old," Gustavrecalls "my mother gave me her copy of Are You Experienced? by Jimi Hendrix. That's where I first discovered and understood what a ‘groove' was. Since then, whenever I heard that groove, I recognized it, and I liked it." "Dungen is not retro," he states. "Dungen is contemporary. Contemporary because it consists of elements from both then and now." And a great combination it is.
Gustav Ejstes's lifelong dream is to play Swedish folk music which is why he has been learning from his idol, Jonny Soling. Soling, is one of the best Fiddlers. Gustav's father was a fiddler too.
