‘Elon,’ formerly known as Elon College is a city in the Alamance County of North Carolina in USA. This city is an integral part of Burlington in the North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area.

This city is home to the Elon University. It was famously called Elon College until Elon College became Elon University. Subsequently this city was officially renamed to Elon. The city has several public schools like Western Alamance High School, Western Middle School, Altamahaw-Ossipee Elementary School, Elon Elementary and et al.

According to the 2000 census reports, Elon has total population of 6,738. This city has 1,141 families and 1,903 households. Its population density is 1,991.7 people per square mile.
