 In 1994, 1995 and 1997, Elvis won the World Figure Skating Championship. He also captured the Canadian Figure Skating Championship in 1994, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2002. Elvis's participation in 1995 World Figure Skating Championship was really commendable. Instead of a serious ankle injury he participated in the Championship Tournament.
Elvis won his silver medal in the 1998 Olympics after a very difficult performance. He was suffering from a groin injury as well as recovering from flu. Although he was down with his health he could not take painkillers because of drug test. He didn't tell media about his groin injury. But eventually it came into focus when the pain doubled after his long program. It was clearly seen when he came to the podium wearing sneakers at the medal presentation ceremony.
In the 1991 World Championships, Elvis became the first person who won a quadruple-double jump combination. In the 1997 Grand Prix Finale Elvis became the first person who won a quadruple-triple jump. In the 1997 World Championship he repeated the feat. In 2002, he was placed 8th in the World Figure Skating Championship which was held at Salt Lake.
In 2002 Elvis turned professional and announced that he would perform at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy. Elvis is thinking of taking retirement now.
