Emerson Hart
Born on July 21, 1969 in New jersey, Emerson Hart is a vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, producer and what not. In 1993 Emerson Hart formed Tonic, an alternative rock band with bassist Dan Rothchild, drummer Kevin Shepard and and his childhood friend Jeff Russo. Emerson Hart was such a good songwriter that the famous EMI Records approached the songwriter asked him to write lyrics for them. Emerson Hart not only wrote beautiful songs but also he performed all around Los Angeles. Emerson Hart's band Tonic signed with the Atlas/Polydor Records in 1995. In 1997, Emerson Hart's Tonic took the music industry by storm. Their "Lemon Parade" still remains one of the most amazing debut releases in recent history. The track "Open Up Your Eyes," reached #1 position. Another track entitled ""Casual Affair," was gloriously in the list of top 10 rock track. For their single "If You Could Only See," the band was awarded the 1997 Billboard Rock Song Award. This track broke all the records of Rock, Modern Rock, AAA, Hot AC and CHR radio charts besides going platinum plus in Canada, U.S. And Australia.
While Tonic's record company was shifted from Polydor to Universal, Tonic launched their website and released an internet-only live EP named "Live and Enhanced." The album included some of the bands greatest hits including the previously unreleased ballad video "Soldier's Daughter,". The album also got the acoustic version of the song "If You Could Only See".

The band Tonic also contributed the soundtracks of many famous films. These films include: Scream 2, The X-Files, American Pie, and Clay Pigeons. During their film projects, bass player Rothchild was replaced by Dan Lavery. In 1999, the band released their second album entitled "Sugar". The singles You Wanted More" and "Knock Down Walls" became smash hit. "Head On Straight", the third album of the band was released in 2002. "Take Me As I Am" became a huge hit which is still heard on many radio channels in all over the world. In 2003, Tonic got two Grammy nominations.
In 2002 Emerson performed the song "Generation" in American Dreams which was aired on the NBC TV. Emerson himself wrote that song. That song bagged an ASCAP award for Television's best theme song. In 2000, Emerson Hart got married with actress Nicole Taylor.
From 2004 onwards Emerson Hart is working on his first solo album which is yet to be released in 2006. For Emerson Heart fans there is a very good news.
