‘Englishtown’ is a famous borough in the Monmouth County of New Jersey in the USA. This region was officially incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature of the USA on January 4, 1888. This borough was carved out from the portions of Manalapan Township that is based upon the results of a referendum.

This borough is ruled under the control of the local New Jersey municipal government. It is governed by a mayor and his team of six-member borough council. The mayor is directly elected by the voters for a four-year term in office. The Borough Council members serve office for the three-year term on a staggered basis, with two seats coming up for election each year.

Thomas Reynolds is the current mayor of Englishtown borough. Council President Harry Soden, Jayne Carr, Lori Cooke, Janet Leonardis, Cindy Robilotti and Steven Simon are the present core members of Englishtown Borough Council. This borough is in the Twelfth Congressional District and a part of the 12th Legislative District of New Jersey.

Englishtown is an enclave of the Manalapan Township. According to 2000 census reports, this borough has 1,764 inhabitants, 643 households and 416 families. Its population density is 3,102.1 people per square mile. It has 680 housing units at an average density of 1,195.8/sq mi. The racial makeup of this borough is 88.38% Whites, 4.14% African Americans, 0.11% Native Americans, 4.48% Asians, 1.64% from other races, 1.25% from two or more races and 6.24% is of Hispanic or Latino race.

This borough has manageable sex ratio at 91.5 males for every 100 females. Its adult sex ratio is 82.4 males for every 100 females aged 18 and above. The US Census Bureau further estimates that this borough has been on the path of progress with its land and water areas and regular progress economically.
