Chevron World Challenge Tickets Coming into its 12th year, the Chevron World Challenge is once again scheduled to bring golf's shining stars to Southern California. Hosted annually by Tiger Woods, the Chevron World Challenge is an off-season golf tournament set to take place December 2-5, 2010 on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course at Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, California. 2009 marked the first time that the Chevron World Challenge awarded World Golf Ranking points, and, as the first-ever limited field event to receive Official World Golf Ranking points, the Chevron Challenge is expanding its field from sixteen to eighteen professionals with invitations extended to the defending champion, the winners of golf's four Majors, and two exemptions selected exclusively by the Tiger Woods Foundation. The Official World Golf Rankings will then be used to select other top players to round out the remaining eleven slots. In that groundbreaking Chevron World Challenge, Jim Furyk posted a second consecutive round of 67 on Sunday to climb the leader board and win the tournament by one stroke over 54-hole, overnight leader Graeme McDowell, ending a more than two-year drought without a victory when he drained key putts on the final two holes en route to his one-shot victory. It was Furyk's first since the 2007 Canadian Open, and, along with taking home $1.35 million, the win moved Furyk to # 6 in the world at that time.

2010 Chevron World Challenge

 The Chevron World Challenge was established by Tiger Woods as a charity fundraiser, with all funds raised going to support programs of the Tiger Woods Foundation, including the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Orange County and Tiger's Action Plan, a nationwide character development program. These and numerous other programs established and backed by the Tiger Woods Foundation all share the similar mission – empowering young people to dream big while setting specific goals to achieve those dreams. The competitors will be playing for portions of the $5.75 million prize purse, which has the winner taking home $1.35 million while the 18th-place finisher still receives $150,000. Tiger himself holds the record for most Chevron World Challenge victories with four, and is also the only player to win consecutive tournaments (2001, 2004, 2006-07), while Davis Love III is the only other player to win the Chevron more than once (2000, 2003).
