Childrens Miracle Network Classic Tickets Each year, the Children's Miracle Network Classic gathers 128 world-class golfers for four days of thrilling competition, which is also highlighted by the magical tradition of the Walt Disney World Resort championship golf courses. The tournament was founded as the Walt Disney World Open Invitational in 1971, and from 1974 to 1981, the tournament was played as a two-man team, best-ball event. After 36 years of having Disney in the tournament name, the Children's Miracle Network was announced as the new sponsor in 2007. The Children's Miracle Network is a non-profit organization, dedicated to raising funds for children's hospitals across the United States, in order to improve and even save the lives of children and families in need. The 2009 Children's Miracle Network Classic will mark the 39th year of the event, and a part of the longest running PGA Tour event in Central Florida; a tournament that began with 3 consecutive wins by Jack Nicklaus in 1971, 1972 and 1973. The Children's Miracle Network Classic continually attracts the best players in the world to the Magic Kingdom in Orlando each year; crowning such recognizable, world-class, champions as Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, Payne Stewart, and Mark O'Meara.
