Tavistock Cup Tickets Having first been played in 2004, the inaugural Tavistock Cup originated as a friendly cross-town rivalry between Isleworth and Lake Nona Country Clubs. Matching each clubs' golf pro members against one another, the event is played to determine the title of World Golf and Country Club Champion. Through 2008, the prestigious members of these two country clubs – all of whom are members or residents one of the clubs – have won a combined total of 53 major championships, and account for more than 710 career victories spanning the globe. Played as a two-day team tournament in Florida, the Tavistock Cup is an officially sanctioned PGA Tour event, with a purse valued at more than $3.5 million. Unique to this event, the invitation-only gallery is allowed to stroll the fairways alongside the contestants as they compete for team Par 3 hole-in-one prizes, including cars, boats, and other luxurious items. Lake Nona Golf & Country Club and Isleworth Golf & Country Club are located within 25 miles of one another and both owned by the Tavistock Group, a privately held real estate and financial services investment company – thus the Tavistock Cup name. The Tavistock Cup is significantly responsible for charitable assistance to many organizations around the world; each year the winning team receives an additional $1 million to donate as the team sees fit – each team member directing their equal portion to the charity, or charities, of their choice. Isleworth clinched victory in the inaugural Tavistock Cup in 2004 at Lake Nona. In 2005, the event was played at Isleworth, with regulation play ending with the teams tied. After the play of three sudden death holes, the contest was terminated due to darkness and the teams agreed to finish in a tie. Since a 2005 Tavistock Cup winner was not determined, the captains decided the tournament should return to Isleworth in 2006, which resulted with Team Isleworth being victorious once again.

 In 2007, Team Lake Nona claimed their first Tavistock Cup by defeating Team Isleworth convincingly, with a final score of 22-8. Tiger Woods shot an 8-under-par 64 on Tuesday, and took home the Payne Stewart Salver Award for low medalist, while Retief Goosen won drove home a brand-new 2007 Cadillac Escalade after landing just one foot-ten inches from the target on the "Closest to the Pin" seventeenth hole. Additionally, besides leading his team to victory, Ernie Els also won an additional $100,000 for his team by winning the Old Mutual Long Drive Challenge on the eleventh hole on Monday. The Tavistock Cup returned to Isleworth in 2008, and saw the home team defend their turf, beating Team Lake Nona by a score of 19½ - 11½, and with J.B. Holmes sweeping the field by winning the Old Mutual Long Drive Challenge, the Cadillac Closet to the Pin, and the Payne Stewart Salver Award for low medalist with a 4-under-par score of 68. In 2009, Isleworth carried a 6-4 lead into the second day singles matches, but Lake Nona rallied to win eleven points outright, while halving four other matches. Isleworth scored 7 points in singles play, thus giving Lake Nona the 17-13 victory. It was the second Tavistock Cup win for Lake Nona and the first Payne Stewart Medalist for the team. The next Tavistock Cup will be contested at Isleworth Golf & Country Club, March 22-23, 2010, so check for some last-minute tickets as soon as possible and be there for this unique, star-studded event.
