Grinderman can be a difficult album to explain. It is comprised of famed lead singer Nick Cave, multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis, drummer Jim Sclavunos, and bassist and acoustic guitarist Martyn P. Casey. This is the same lineup as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, but this time Nick Cave plays guitar. Basically the only difference between Nick Cave and the Bad Seed tickets and Grinderman tickets is that each band's indentity simply follows a different musical direction.

Grinderman 2 is the second album from this group. The album takes a much different approach than the first album. The debut Grinderman album had a bluesy sound to it, but this second album is far more polished in both its instrumentation and its lyrics. Grinderman 2 has something in common with first eponymous album- it has been lauded by music critics.
