This band formed in the middle of the 1980s when Hollywood Rose merged with L.A. Guns. Singer Axl Rose, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, lead guitarist Tracii Guns, bassist Ole Beich, and drummer Rob Gardner collaborated, taking the last name of both front men to create Guns n Roses. Lineup changes began almost immediately for this local super group in Los Angeles. Slash replaced Guns, Duff McKagan replaced Beich, and Steven Adler replaced Gardner. By the end of the Hell Tour and a trip to Seattle, Guns n Roses had cemented their band chemistry. Guns and Roses introduced themselves to the world with a four-song EP, Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide. This brief introduction was followed by a full-length studio album, Appetite for Destruction, in 1987. Sales from that album could pay for retirement alone. It went 18-times platinum in the United States, 2-times platinum in the UK, platinum in Germany, diamond in Canada, and platinum in Finland. The album had three songs that would become Guns n Roses concert staples: "Welcome to the Jungle", "Sweet Child o' Mine", and "Paradise City". The second album, G N' R Lies, went quintuple platinum and yielded the hit single "Patience". The first sign of an impending implosion was the heavy drug use by Adler and Slash. Guns n Roses powered through this very public moment and recorded and released Use Your Illusion I and II in September 1991. Adler had not stopped his drug use though, and he became a burden. Matt Sorum replaced him. A new musical direction found Guns n Roses adding keyboardist Dizzy Reed. The Use Your Illusion Tour featured awe-inspiring performances and unseemly riots. These shows were also plagued by Slash and Axl's disgust with the lax security and the number of audience members using recording devices. These two would object, disrupting the flow of the show and resulted in Stradlin's departure. Guns n Roses replaced him with Gilby Clarke. This band had one more album before they disbanded. The Spaghetti Incident? Reached top ten status and went platinum. Guns and Roses took a long hiatus and occasionally went on tour from 2001 to 2011. This decade of touring had basically been one long Chinese Democracy Tour. OnlineSeats has the Guns n Roses tickets for the Chinese Democracy Tour and any tour after that.
