Hellyeah is the heavy metal super group comprised of vocalist Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, guitarist Tom Maxwell, drummer Vinnie Paul, and bassist Bob Zilla. The members each come from different groups, so Hellyeah tickets are a rare treat for this heavy metal super group.
The band came to be thanks to a chance meeting at the Tattoo the Earth tour in 2000. Tom Maxwell of Nothingface and Chad Gray of Mudvayne discussed the possibility of performing together. For six years the idea remained nothing more than an idea. Bands had tours and planned recording sessions keeping the band from coming to fruition. In 2006 Hellyeah finally met, planned, and recorded an album.
The band members of Hellyeah met in Baltimore and finalized plans for recording. The group ended up in Arlington, Texas recording in Vinnie Paul's backyard. Paul built a cabana home in the back yard to make everyone comfortable while working together. The band name came from the boys' club feel of the recording environment.
