Artist Biography - Holiday Sing Along
|
Keb' Mo' played an original Christmas song while returning the stage to Owen and shearer. He invited these two hosts to his holiday show at Disney Hall last year. The host, Shearer performed on Jill Sobule's "Jesus Was a Dreidel Spinner", in a humorous way. He described this performance as the ecumenical part of the evening. Additionally, Shearer pleased the audience by singing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer". The second half of the program was completely dedicated to the audience and their participation. This part was planned to complete beautifully trident "Twelve Days of Christmas". The house of audience was divided into two sections each singing one "Day". This made the audience curious and spirited to perform their best, everyone chiming in for "five golden rings." The audience relished the show with great humor and participation as Owens and Shearer conducted the song with pleasant smiles on their faces.
This beautiful evening concluded with the outstanding performance by the 40-strong Angeles Chorale Chamber Singers and organist Philip Smith. They took the center stage and led the house in "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing" and "Joy to the World". The only thing that was missed by everybody , the snowdrifts outside at the end of this wonderful, delighting, funny and heartfelt show.
The next show is scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 23, 2006, Walt Disney Concert hall, Los Angeles, California. The show is expected to go beyond the success and celebrations of the previous years because of its performers and arrangements.
