Billy Currington got his big break in 2003 after signing with Mercury Nashville Records. As soon as Currington signed with the recod label, he released his self-titled debut album Billy Currington. The album included the smash hit "Walk a Little Straighter," which is a reflective song he wrote as a child about his alcoholic stepfather. The single went on to reach number eight on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks. The album produced another Top 5 hit "I Got a Feelin".

Currington planned to release his third album and take on a full promotional tour. However, a diagnosis of laryngitis postponed both. It wasn't until 2008 he released his third album Little Bit of Everything. His third album proved to another success. Two thousand ten brought about Billy's fourth album Enjoy Yourself. The first single from the CD, "Pretty Good at Drinkin Beer," hit number one on the charts in September of 2010.
