Janet Reno
Janet Reno was born in the year 1938. Her father immigrated from Denmark to the United States. He was a police reporter for the Miami Herald, for forty three years and her mother too was an investigative reporter for the Miami News. Reno's attitude towards life is that if communities are built on such moral values such as discipline, integrity and patriotism, then they can be made strong and can also withstand violence. Reno has finished he schooling from the public school in Miami-Dade County, Florida. In school she was a active debator and as such always emerged as the champion in the debate competition. Besides she was also a valedictorian at Coral Gables High School. Later, Reno did her major in chemistry from the Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where she also became the president of the Women's Self-Government Association, and also earned her own room and board.
After completion of her graduation, she enrlled at Harvard Law School, wherein she received her LL.B after three years. In the year 1971, she was named as the staff director at the Judiciary Committee of the Florida House of Representatives. She is also a pioner of changing the court system at Florida. After some time she also accepted a position with the Dade County State's Attorney's Office. Later, she left the attorney's office, when some trouble rose against the Republican opponent Jack Thompson. After leaving the office, she became a partner in a private law firm. In the year 1978, Reno was again appointed State Attorney for Dade County. In the year 1978, she was elected to the Office of State Attorney and consequtively returned to the office for four more times by the voters. Later she also established the Miami Drug Court and tried to reform the juvenile justice system and also pursue delinquent fathers for child support payments. In the year 1993, she became the first woman to become the Attorney General under Bill Clinton and remained so for the rest of Clinton's presidency making her one of the longest serving Attorney General since William Wirt.

But during her term as Attorney General, she attracted more controversy as compared to any other cabinet members of Clinton office. The reason being that at the center Reno's job was to look after variety of intractable cultural conflicts, while on the other hand Clinton could easily move into a middle ground between his Democratic supporters and the Republican Congress on economic issues. As a result of which, it made Reno a sparkling rod for criticism of the Clinton Administration from the right, because they often thought that the federal government was a danger to their fundamental freedoms. In the year 1995, in the sudden turn of events, she revelaed that she has Parkinson's disease which is actually an incurable degenerative illness and it causes muscular stiffness and involuntary trembling. In the year 2002, she ran for Governor of Florida but lost the election to the Democratic primary to Bill McBride. Some major voting problems arose during the election, and even until a week later, she did not concede defeat. Since, then she has retired from her public life.
