 After the release of his album, he has toured continuously in support of the album. He has toured in many countries such as Poland, The Netherlands, Austria, Montenegro, Holland and Czechoslovakia as well as Canada, Norway, Germany, Australia, Lithuania, Switzerland, Italy, France, Belgium and Africa. He has even performed along with legendary musicians such as BB King, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Lucky Peterson, Bo Diddley, Charlie Musselwhite, Koko Taylor, Johnny Johnson, Elvin Bishop, Ron Thompson, and Canned Heat and many more. He was also nominated in the category of Traditional Blues Album in the Grammy Award in the year 2004. Recently he has also won W.C. Handy Award for Best New Artist Debut! The California Music Awards (formerly the BAMMYS) named Blues with a Vengeance 2004's Outstanding Blues Album of the Year. In the year 2004, the Bay Area Blues Society presented him with the Comeback Artist of the Year award.
Hooker says, "It means a lot because I witnessed my dad working very hard catching a bus to work, getting a ride to work, carrying his own equipment. I watched how hard work changed his stature into a giant stature. It's hard work that brings about these things (such as the awards) so when I won (The W.C. Handy Award) and I was nominated (Grammy), it was proof to me...not that I needed proof, but it was proof to me that it was a direct result of the hard work. This is what I am supposed to have right here, the nominations and the wins. That goes for anybody."
In the year 2006, he released his next album "Cold as Ice", which also became a huge hit.
