With music beside him he got his first job at West Side clubs as The Place. Herein he was accompanied by his own band naming 'The Maintainers'. But this place was not his sole destination so in search of that he worked in various clubs such as Lover's Lounge, The Bow Tie and many more. After creating his own band Primer left it as he got the golden opportunity to lead the Soul and R&B band 'The Brotherhood'. This was the time he worked real hard as he was use to jam whole night and then in parties during daytime. Success was right the corner as in 1974 he was told to replace John Watkins at the world famous Theresa's Lounge on the South Side of Chicago. Next five years he played with famous musicians such as Smokey Smothers, Lonnie Brooks, Junior Wells, Sammy Lawhorn and Buddy Guy.
