The band Junior Boys were formed in the year 1999 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are actually a Canadian indie techno-pop band, emphasizing on vocals, as well as soft, intertwining beat with heavy synths. Jeremy Greenspan and Johnny Dark were two friends, who formed the band Junior Boys who used to create sound so that they can one day hit the big and were influenced by a host of music sectors such as arty synth pop, U.K. Gaage, minimal techno and contemporary hip-hop. This carried on for years and this resulted of a demonstration which they did in front of many producers, but were sent back after a lots of rejections. This broke their heart and they ultimately resigned to being bedroom beat constructors. After some time Johnny left him to pursue other interests and as a result Johnny stopped doing music. Then one day Warp employee Nick Kilroy eventually heard the songs, turned up at Johnny's place and showed his interest to begin KIN, and he authorized more work from the remaining member and inspired Johnny to start afresh. Jeremey sought out the help of Matt Didemus, an engineer friend, and together they began writing more material to pulled out an album together. They recoded enough material for a full-length.
