In 2003 he served as a producer and also did a supporting role in the film "United States of Leland".

Recognizing his contribution, London South Bank University in November 2005 awarded him an Honorary Doctorate. Currently he is closely associated with the Old Vic Theater in London and has announced his intention to stay there for another nine years.
Spacey despite his huge success in Hollywood also was seen occasionally on television. Most recently he hosted the season finale of Saturday Night Live this year on May 20 besides participating in six sketches, which include the roles of a falconer, detective, and Neil Young.
Spacey's was most recently seen in as the villainous Lex Luthor in "Superman Returns". He also appeared in Edison Force co-starring Morgan Freeman and Justin Timberlake.
