Light of Day Concert is organized by The Light Of Day Foundation, Inc. The first concert was held in the year 1999. The The Light Of Day Foundation, Inc gives the money to ALS Association and The Parkinson's Disease Foundation for providing money for the patient support programs. In the 2005 the concert paid homage to Joan Dancy who was fiancé of Terry Magovern. Terry Magovern for over fifteen works had worked with Bruce Springsteen. The 2005 concerts was held at Stone Pony in Asbury Park in NJ on 4th November and at Starland Ballroom in Sayreville on 5th and 6th November.
Since the last seven years Light of Day Concert has featured many acclaimed artists such as Jesse Malin, Soozie Tyrell, John Eddie, Joe Grushecky, Jeffrey Gaines, Garland Jeffreys, and Willie Nile.

Artist Biography - Light Of Day Concert

 The 2006 Light of Day Concert was a great one. The show was headlined by Joe Grushecky & the Houserockers. He gave the audience a wonderful time by singing a very hit song "Darkness on the Edge of Town." Not only this he was leading the band through versions of the numbers such as "Atlantic City," "Johnny 99" and "Code of Silence".
There was also a short speech by Bob Benjamin who organizes the event as well manages Grushecky and other artists. Bob is a also patient of Parkinson's disease. The other artist at the concert were Willie Nile, Jeffrey Gaines, Pat DiNizio, Soozie Tyrell, John Easdale and Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan. Some of the these artists performed at various days and apart from singing were also engaged in storytelling. Among the ska and punk acts which performed at the Light of Day Concert includes the names of Nun the Less, MC Lars and Streetlight Manifesto. In all there were no less than 40 solo musicians and bands who entertained the audience and at the same time granted their support a great and a very humanitarian cause.
Among the most well known and the most sought after musician to perform at the concert was none other than Bruce Springsteen. He gave a wonderful performance with the band Marah and sang the party anthem "Raise Your Hand". He also played guitar for the song "Reservation Girl."
The event ended with the famous Christmas Carol Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.". It was song by all the musicians who had took part i the concert with Springsteen, Grushecky & the Houserockers and Bob Benjamin sharing the lead vocals.
Light of Day Concert has derived its name from a very famous song Springsteen of that name only. About $300,000 were generated from first five Light Of Day concerts which were given to PDF and ALS charities. Light of Day Concert has been a very successful event as it is for a very great cause.
