Los Rieleros del Norte is the norteno band from Pecos, Texas that has been playing together since 1979 and recording since 1991. The group beginnings are wrapped in mystery or at least controversy, but now the norteno band is comprised of band leader and lead singer Daniel Esquivel, accordion player Daniel Esquivel Jr., bassist Javier Esquivel, drummer Alfredo Esquivel, saxophonist Eugenio Gonzalez, and Rogelino Martinez and Joe Esquivel both on Bajo Sexto.
The band began performing together 1979 and not much has been sorted out as to the true beginnings of the group. In the 21st century a Federal Judge in a court in El Paso, Texas gave the rights for the band to Daniel Esquivel. The decision came down after seven years of dispute.
