MGMT will be releasing a new album on April 13, 2010. The album release corresponds with the beginning of a two month tour this spring. The first MGMT tickets will be available for a show at the Fillmore in San Francisco on April 12th and 13th, 2010 and the next will be for a set at Coachella. The tour ends on June 20th at the Riverside Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

MGMT seems to be everyone's favorite up and coming band. They have been celebrated by music magazines like NME and have been acclaimed at music festivals like SXSW, Coachella, and Lollapalooza. Fans have been eagerly waiting for their MGMT tickets since the duo finished college at Wesleyan University in 2005.

The group is comprised of Andrew James VanWyngarden and Ben David-Martin Goldwasser. The two met as freshman in college and never intended to form a group. They simply wanted to compare records and found a mutual appreciation for noise rock and electronica. They ended up becoming MGMT (originally they were actually known as the Management, but they had to change their name due to legal reasons).

They began to actively touring in 2005 after graduation. They performed at smaller clubs to promote their EP, Time to Pretend. By 2006, MGMT had signed with Columbia Records. Working with producer Dave Fridmann they released their first major label release, Oracle Spectacular. MGMT then toured with of Montreal in 2007, this time bringing along an accompaniment of musicians to fill out their sound for the larger venues.
