This led to conflict, of course. Miguel desperately wanted the freedom to follow his own musical direction. Three years later he found that opportunity by signing with Jive Records and suing Black Ice for monetary rights. For the next three years Miguel worked with artists like Usher, Asher Roth, and Musiq Soulchild. Perhaps his best work during this period came on Below the Heavens, an album by Blu and Exile. Miguel had been working on other artists' albums for three years, but eventually earned a chance to record his own album. That debut album became All I Want is You. The album, named for a single he recorded featuring J. Cole. The album came out on November 30, 2010 and found its way onto the Billboard 200 at number 109. The album utilized elements of rock, funk, and R&B. He will be tour with Usher and Trey Songz on the OMG Tour in November and December to close the year, but will be back in 2011 with his second album, State of the Art, and more concert dates.
