Atlanta Braves Tickets
The Braves have been incredibly fortunate to have the 10th most runs while only possessing the 18th ranked slugging percentage, the 21st ranked batting average and 23rd ranked on base percentage. Luckily the pitching staff has been phenomenal, posting the best WHIP, the second best ERA, holding the team to the second lowest batting average, and the recording the third most quality starts. Atlanta has four starters with an ERA below 3.00. Jair Jurrjens has been the best of those four. The soft throwing starter is 4-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. I am not sure he will be able to keep up the spectacular statistical streak because he also has to throw more pitches per start and that could wear down a pitcher.
In the case that Jurrjens does regress there are plenty of starters waiting in the wings. The most exciting prospect is Tommy Hanson. The young pitcher is entering his third season and has a 2.63 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in seven games despite only recording four quality starts. Atlanta's starters are supported by an incredible bullpen with three middle relievers with an ERA below 2.50 and WHIP below 1.10 and a rocket armed closer in Craig Kimbrel.
Now, the offense is not such a great story. The power is all at the bottom of the stat sheet. Jason Heyward and Dan Uggla will be competing for both the most homeruns on the Braves and the lowest batting average and on base percentage. Meanwhile the only real consistent hitter is catcher Brian McCann. McCann is holding his batting average above .300 and his on base percentage is holding at .370.

This Milwaukee team enjoyed the exploits of Hank Aaron, baseball's most humble gentleman and one of the greatest sluggers ever to grace the baseball diamond. Occasionally the Braves made a run at the NLCS (1969 and 1982), but most often the team finished near the bottom of the NL West. It was not until Bobby Cox returned to the dugout in 1990 that the Braves began to turn things around. Atlanta took the division in 1991, its first of 14 in 15 seasons. The many playoff appearances resulted in just one World Series win, in 1995 when Atlanta put the Cleveland Indians down in six games.
