Chicago Cubs Tickets
The Chicago Cubs have a new GM, new manager, and essentially a new infield and starting rotation. Theo Epstein comes over from the Boston Red Sox and has hired Dale Sveum to lead the team from the bench. Well, Sveum will have to go forward in 2012 with three potential new starters and an infield dominated by minor league players making their big break. Chicago Cubs tickets are on sale to see this roster at Wrigley Field as they try and overachieve like no other. Beginning with the starters, Ryan Dempster and Matt Garza are the only sure things who played on the roster last season. Dempster is in decline, but it's a slow decline in which Dempster will once again surpass 200 innings. Garza had a decent season in his first as a Cub, going 10-10 with a 3.32 ERA and 1.26 WHIP. After these two, it is going to be a competition between Paul Maholm, Travis Wood, Randy Wells, Chris Volstad, and Casey Coleman to determine the final three. Sadly, the Cubs also have to deal with their bullpen. Last season they were bad and this summer much of the team returns minus it's one of the game's best setup men, Sean Marshall. Kerry Wood and Jeff Samardzija are two decent setup men, meaning it is up to Carlos Marmol to rebound from last season's 10 blown save disaster. In 2012, Marmol will have to drag his ERA below 3.00 and avoid blowing his leads in the ninth. Offensively, this is an odd lineup. With no clear leadoff man, it appears the new right fielder, David DeJesus, is up for the job. The Cubs should have a clear trio of power hitters but no one is sure if Geovany Soto, Ian Stewart, or Alfonso Soriano will have great seasons after struggling in 2011. There is also no guarantee that players like shortstop Starlin Castro, second baseman Darwin Barney, and first baseman Bryan LaHair will be able to step up to the plate. Castro is going to be thrown into the third spot in the batting order, fair or not. Barney had a difficult time last season and LaHair is potential decent power hitter. Add to this, the cry for the promotion of first baseman Anthony Rizzo, and this is going to be a crazy summer at Wrigley Field.

Chicago Cubs History
|
Chicago Cubs tickets are baseball tickets to see the team the MLB knows as the loveable losers take the diamond at Wrigley Field. The Cubs have been playing at Wrigley Field since 1916, eight seasons after this team's last World Series win, but in time to pay host to six World Series losses, the last of which was in 1945. Cubs tickets obviously are associated with a curse, but the fans do not care. They sit in the stands, preferably in the bleachers, and cheer on their team. The curse has become as apart of the identity as the devotion to legendary players, like Ryne Sandberg, Ernie Banks, Billy Williams, Ferguson Jenkins, and Ron Santo. Still, the baseball fans hope that season's team is finally able to end the malediction. At this point, the Cubs fans would just be happy with another trip to the World Series, win or lose. The Chicago Cubs curse supposedly dates back to 1945, the last World Series appearance on the North Side. The Cubs were playing the Detroit Tigers and in Game 4 one Cubs fan purchased two tickets, one for him, Billy Sianis, and the other for his goat. At first the fans were happy to have the goat grazing in the stands, but once it began to rain the same fans complained of the smell and Sianis and his goat were ejected. To this day the Cubs faithful believe Sianis's curse that the team will not return to the World Series while playing at Wrigley Field is the reason they hang their heads low every fall. Cheap Chicago Cubs tickets have had plenty of chances to advance to the World Series in the 21st century. The Cubs have won the NL Central three times since 2000, but have failed to advance beyond the NLCS. In fact the last two playoff appearances have been marred by series sweeps in the NLDS. The 2003 postseason show great promise, but the "Steve Bartman incident" preceded a melt down in the eighth inning of Game 6 of the NLCS with the Florida Marlins. The Cubs were leading 3-0 in the game and 3-2 in the series, but the Marlins put an 8 on the board that inning and took the next game, leaving the Cubs deflated and forcing Bartman to leave the Chicago for his own safety. OnlineSeats has Chicago Cubs tickets for everyone, including Steve Bartman, in 2011 as the Chicago Cubs try and vanquish this curse at Wrigley Field once and for all and join the ranks of the teams for which the new century ahs been a new start, mainly the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox. Check the Chicago Cubs schedule and find your Cubs tickets for your next summer outing.
