Cincinnati Reds Tickets
The Reds are an offensive power house. The team ranks second in runs scored, fourth in batting average, second in on base percentage, and second in slugging percentage. First baseman Joey Votto has once again been phenomenal. He is hitting .345 with an obscene .472 OBP and very respectable .556 slugging percentage. Yes he has only hit five homeruns so far, but this team has plenty of other power hitters. Right fielder Jay Bruce has eight homeruns, left fielder Jonny Gomes has seven, center fielder has seven, catcher Ramon Hernandez has six, and second baseman Brandon Phillips has five. So while no team has excessive power, there is enough power throughout the Cincinnati lineup to punish the opposition.
Cincinnati's pitching staff has not been as excellent. The Reds have the seventh worst ERA and the 10th worst WHIP. There are some middle of the road numbers too. The starting rotation has the 12th most quality stars and the staff is holding the opposition to the 14th lowest batting average.
The Reds bullpen has been very good. Setup men Bill Bray and Logan Ondrusek have an ERA below 3.00 and five holds each. Closer Francisco Cordero has eight saves, a 1.86 ERA, and a 0.86 WHIP. Starter Johnny Cueto has not had many starts (two), but his two have been amazing. Cueto has a 0.00 ERA and 0.80 WHIP. His 5.93 K/9 indicate that he will be allowing way too many balls in play to keep those stats up.

The baseball team was managed by Sparky Anderson and starred Johnny Bench, Tony Perez, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, Cesar Geronimo, and Ken Griffey. They were known as the Big Red Machine and they have gone down in sports history as one of the most memorable dynasties of any era. The Cincinnati Reds enjoyed mixed success over the next decade, but flirted with greatness to begin the 1990s. The team won the NL West division with a 91-71 record, beat the Pittsburgh Pirates in the NLCS and swept the Oakland Athletics in the World Series. Just as with the Reds of the 1970s, this team had a legendary manager. This time Lou Piniella led a team with Chris Sabo at third base, Barry Larkin at shortstop, Eric Davis in center, and Paul O'Neill in right. The starting staff had few pitchers that will be remembered as the decades pass, but Tom Browning led the team with a 15-9 record and Jose Rijo went 14-8 with a team-leading 2.70 ERA. The only part of the team to receive a nickname was actually the bullpen. Randy Myers, Rob Dibble, and Norm Charlton shut down the opponents in the late innings and collectively saved 44 games.
