The best offensive player this season is not Shin-Soo Choo or Grady Sizemore, but shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera. Cabrera has hit .289 with 17 homeruns, 60 RBI, 61 Runs, and has a .342 OBP and .492 Slugging Percentage. The Indians pitching staff falls in the middle of the pack in quality starts, ranking 15th, and has the 13th-best WHIP and has allowed opponents to post the 10th best batting average. This staff is all over the place to say the least. So, while Cleveland cannot claim a great staff, there are a few individual bright spots, particularly starters Justin Masterson and Josh Tomlin. Masterson has 16 quality starts in 21 games and has a 2.57 ERA and 1.17 WHIP. Yet, somehow he is juts 8-7. It would be easy to claim Tomlin is getting all the run support because of his 4.12 ERA, but he actually has been quite good with 14 quality starts in 20 games and a 1.05 WHIP. The ERA is more a product of a few horrendous starts.
