Mountain Heart is an emerging bluegrass music band from America. The band was founded in 1998 by Gulley, Abernathy, Steffey, and Van Cleve. The original bass player of the band was Johnny Dowdle. In between, one of the member, mandolin player Steffey quit the band and was replaced by Alan Perdue. Later when Steffey joined the group again, Mountain Heart added another skillful guitarist Clay Jones to the lineup. Entry of Jones to the group gifted another lead instrument. His association furnished the group with a amore dynamic and unique sound. The current lineup of Mountain Heart is Barry Abernathy on banjo and vocals, Clay Jones on guitar and vocals, Steve Gulley on guitar and vocals, Jason Moore on acoustic bass and vocals, Adam Steffey on mandolin and vocals with Jim Van Cleve on fiddle and vocals.

He acted as one of the most active member of Mountain Heart in 1999 and then shortly left for some time to get attached with another highly highly acclaimed award-winning gospel group, "The Isaacs". With his great return to Mountain Heart, Steffey brought an awesome experience, skilled musicianship and high applaud to the band.
