My Darkest Days is the hard rock group from Canada signed to Chad Kroeger's (lead singer of Nickelback) label. The group has been performing since 2005, coming together in Norwood, Ontario after Matt Walst chose to start his own band over joining his older brother's (Brad Walst) band (Three Days Grace). The decision has been one Matt has never regretted and now My Darkest Days tickets are available to see this post-grunge group live as they tour. Matt Walst recruited from the ranks of his friends. He is the lead singer, Sal Costa is the guitarist, Brendan McMillan is the bassist, Doug Oliver is the drummer, and Reid Henry joins the group on the road to play the keyboard. As My Darkest Days they have toured with other of the well-known new generation of hard rock groups, many of which have come from Canada. They have taken to the road with Three Days Grace, Default, Theory of a Deadman, Pap Roach, and Hinder. During one of these opening sets Chad Kroeger heard the group. He, reportedly, was so impressed with the band he signed My Darkest Days immediately. The group went to work on the new album and wrote and recorded their first single, Porn Star Dancing. The single struck such a chord with Kroeger that he requested to be featured in the song.. The song struck a chord with radio audiences as well, reaching number 40 on the Canadian singles chart and number nine on the U.S. Mainstream rock chart.
